Free outside event management training for community groups in Poole 29/07/10
The training will cover manual handling, risk assessments and fire safety. Hopefully this will help improve the safety for you and the public for the valuable events, and facilities that you manage. Lunch will be provided. It will be a whole day split into the 3 sessions. If you feel that only some of the sessions will be useful then you are welcome to come in for just that session. The times will be a 9.00 start with risk assessment session (approx 2 hours), then a short break, followed by fire safety (approx 1 hour), then lunch break. We could then start again at 2 pm with a 1½ to 2 hour manual handling session, with questions at the end. It will be at Upton House, Upton Country Park. CHILD SEX OFFENDERS DISCLOSURE SCHEME FOR DORSET
A Home Office scheme allowing members of the public to enquire whether an adult who has access to a child is a Registered Child Sex Offender is being rolled out across Dorset.
The Child Sex Offenders Disclosure Scheme has been trialed in four police forces over the past year and from Sunday, 1 August 2010 will be launched in Dorset.
The force-wide roll out means that for the first time parents, carers, guardians and third parties (such as church leaders, friends, neighbours and grandparents) in Dorset, will be able to make an application for disclosure about someone who has contact with a child.
Disclosure cannot be guaranteed in all cases, but the safeguarding of children will be the key-determining factor. Contact Dorset Police for more information.
