Poole Borough Chaplaincy is one of a number of chaplaincy services available across the Borough of Poole, which seeks to make the church and the wider faith sector more accessible to the community to which we all belong.
Listening to People, Serving the Community, Changing the Conversation
The chaplain is Jonathan Martin, a Christian Minister who seeks to serve people of all faiths and none. In order to be effective and efficient Poole Borough Chaplaincy seeks to relate faith to all of society through building good networks. Some colleagues from within the statutory sector and the faith sector are able to provide advice on their own particular areas of interest or expertise. They do not represent Poole Borough Chaplaincy, but do act informally as advocates on our behalf.
Poole Borough Chaplaincy is supported by the Borough or Poole’s Personnel and Training Department, and overseen by a Chaplaincy Management Committee, chaired by Father Peter Webb. Local Authority representation includes 2 Council Members and 2 Council staff.
The chaplain works to an action plan designed after consultation, and overseen by the Chaplaincy Management Committee. The action plan focuses on the following areas:
A full copy of the action plan can be supplied on request by contacting the chaplain (see Contact Us page for details).

Poole Partnership is made up of many organisations aiming to achieve long-term improvements to the quality of life for Poole people. The Partnership meets annually. A Steering Group, of approximately twenty five representatives of the Partnership, oversees the development of the work. The Partnership is based upon the principals of opportunity, inclusion, equality and sustainable development.
It involves community, voluntary and faith groups, working together with businesses and the public sector. The Partnerships’ main website, www.poolepartnership.info focuses on improving communication between it’s members and the wider community. This website serves as an offshoot, focusing particularly on links with the faith communities of Poole.
Why Poole Partnership?
Poole Partnership wants to actively involve local people and organisations in shaping the future of their town. By working together and through pooling ideas and resources, The Vision for Poole can become a reality.
The objectives of Poole Partnership
